Within the scope of Izmir Bus Station Transportation Study; It is aimed to determine the existing transportation infrastructure of Izmir Bus Station, to evaluate the entrances and exits of the bus station and to carry out the necessary studies and studies for demand forecasting. 2030 is the target year, which is the target year of the İzmir Transportation Master Plan (UPI), which was completed in 2017, was taken into consideration.
Vehicle and occupancy counts were made at the bus station entrances and exits within the scope of the transportation traffic demand forecast of Izmir Bus and Terminal Operators and to reveal the current situation. In this direction, a total of 13,739 vehicle movements in two directions were carried out daily in the bus station area, while 83,711 passenger movements were observed.
Within the scope of the transportation traffic demand forecast of Izmir Bus and Terminal Operators; the calculation of the travel demand and the needs for the area were determined. In this context, demand forecasting calculations were made on the following topics: Intercity bus trips, city trips, transfer journeys, number of public transport passengers, number of automobile passengers, number of service passengers, platform need for the bus station area, parking requirement for the bus station area.
